Solution Solar Inverter
2023 was the year we finally went solar, and honestly, the biggest "wow" moment wasn't the panels on the roof, but the humming beauty of our new battery. We opted for a substantial system, largely because our electricity rates spike like crazy in the evenings. For us, the peak-hour savings have been phenomenal. We charge the battery fully during the day from our solar panels, and then from 4 PM to 9 PM, we're running almost entirely off stored energy. We're talking about seeing our nightly electricity usage drop from $5-$7 to literally pennies – maybe $0.50 on a really active evening. It's incredibly satisfying to watch the app show the house drawing power from our own stored sunshine instead of the grid during those expensive hours.
The heart of it is this massive 628Ah LiFePO4 battery cell, and it just keeps on giving. We've had it for about six months now, and the performance hasn't dipped at all. Even on a recent cloudy stretch where our solar production was low, the battery still managed to cover a good chunk of our evening needs, giving us that peace of mind knowing we weren't completely reliant on expensive grid power. Setup was surprisingly smooth, handled by a professional team who explained everything clearly. My only real "trouble" was a brief moment of panic when the app showed a slightly lower-than-expected charge one morning, but a quick reboot of the inverter sorted it out. It’s been a fantastic investment, and I'm already eyeing potential future expansion.
