Finally, after months of running my home battery, I stopped treating electricity bills as a monthly surprise. My only hiccup happened during a week of rain. The battery stopped charging at 62%, although the panels were producing. I checked the app and found the inverter had entered a low-temperature protection mode in my unheated garage. I let the garage warm naturally for an hour, checked the manual, and afterward I restarted the system. It resumed normally. Since then, I added a temperature sensor and better ventilation, rather than assuming every fault meant a failed battery.
After six months, I have not needed to expand capacity. The 280Ah battery gives me enough usable storage for overnight essentials, even though I keep monitoring.
