Solution Solar Battery
Using my solar battery system through a full summer has changed how I think about electricity bills. I installed the sun 12k sg04lp3 eu alongside my rooftop solar panels after getting tired of sending cheap daytime power back to the grid and buying expensive electricity in the evening.
The setup was fairly straightforward, although the installer spent extra time checking the inverter settings and battery communication cables. Once everything was configured, I programmed the battery to charge from solar during the day and discharge during the utility company’s peak-rate window. That schedule has made the biggest practical difference for me. Before adding energy storage, our cooking, air-conditioning, and laundry all happened after work, exactly when electricity cost the most.
Now, the battery usually reaches full charge by mid-afternoon on sunny days. Around 5 p.m., it starts supplying the house instead of the grid. I can see the change on the inverter app: household demand rises, but grid consumption stays close to zero. On particularly hot days, the stored energy covers most of our evening use until bedtime.
My monthly bill has dropped by roughly 30–40 percent compared with the same months last year, even though we have been running the air conditioner more often. The exact savings vary with cloudy weather and how much energy we use, but avoiding peak-hour rates has been more valuable than I expected.
I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a brief power outage, the battery did not immediately resume its normal schedule. The app showed it as connected, but the discharge setting had reverted. Cycling the inverter and restoring the time-of-use schedule fixed it in a few minutes. Since then, I check the operating mode after outages.
The best part is not watching the battery percentage; it is using appliances normally without worrying as much about evening electricity prices. For my home, solar battery storage has become a practical bill-saving tool rather than just backup equipment.
