Running my home on a growatt energy LiFePO4 Battery has changed the way I think about electricity bills. Before installing the battery, my solar panels produced plenty of power during the day, but much of it went back to the grid. In the evening, when my family cooked dinner, used the heat pump, and charged phones, we bought electricity at the most expensive time.
Now the solar battery stores that daytime energy and releases it during peak hours. On a typical sunny day, the battery reaches about 90 percent before lunch. It will not run every appliance in the house, but it comfortably handles the refrigerator, internet equipment, a few lights, and my home office.
I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a software update, the battery stopped discharging for an evening even though the monitoring app showed plenty of stored energy. I restarted the inverter and checked the operating schedule. The system had switched into a backup-only mode, apparently because the update reset one setting. Changing it back to self-consumption fixed the problem in a few minutes.
