I installed a 2.4kW rooftop solar system with a 5kWh lithium iron phosphate battery last summer, and the difference in our evening routine was obvious within the first week. Before storage, our inverter pulled expensive grid power from about 4 p.m. onward, especially when we cooked dinner and ran the washing machine. Now I charge the solar battery during the afternoon and use it after sunset, when electricity rates are highest.
