Since then, it has been reliable.

I am not pretending the storage battery paid for itself overnight. There was a sizable installation cost, and I still draw from the grid on cloudy stretches. But using solar power later instead of selling it cheaply feels worthwhile. For our household, the biggest benefit is predictable evening usage and quieter bills. I would choose an expandable lithium iron phosphate home battery again.
