Replacing my old rooftop solar setup with a battery storage unit changed how I use power after sunset. Before the battery, most of my evening electricity came straight from the grid, especially when the dishwasher, induction hob, and heat-pump dryer ran together. I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a firmware update, the battery stopped discharging for one evening, even though its state of charge showed 78 percent. I power-cycled the system, checked the operating mode, and found the update had switched the schedule back to default. Restoring my peak-hour settings fixed it immediately.
Since then, I check the monitoring app after updates, and this solar battery quietly saves money by shifting my evening electricity use.
