The installer had enabled a backup gateway, and its Wi-Fi bridge had simply dropped overnight. I power-cycled the bridge, waited five minutes, and the live data returned. The battery never lost power; only my confidence did. Since then, I check the inverter display rather than relying entirely on the app.

For me, the practical value is not energy independence. It is quieter evenings, fewer peak-rate surprises, and knowing the refrigerator and lights can keep running during a short outage. I would buy the same capacity again, though I would ask for clearer status labels and a stronger communications link.
