I chose a hybrid inverter and lithium iron phosphate battery rather than the cheapest package. It was not the lowest upfront price, but the monitoring app has been reliable so far.

My only irritating moment came during the first heatwave. The battery stopped discharging at night, and the app showed an error. I discovered the inverter had overheated in a cramped utility corner. The installer improved the ventilation, and it has worked normally since. That small problem taught me that battery placement matters as much as battery size.

Now I check the app every few days, mostly out of curiosity. Watching solar production cover daytime loads and seeing the battery carry our evening routine is satisfying. For my household, solar battery storage is not total energy independence, but it is practical protection from expensive peak rates and a noticeable reduction in monthly bills.
