Powering my house from stored sunlight has changed the way I think about electricity bills. I installed a 5kWh solar battery beside my inverter last spring, mainly to avoid buying expensive grid power between 4pm and 9pm.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a firmware update, the battery stopped discharging at sunset and showed a communication warning. I switched off the inverter, waited five minutes, and restarted the battery connection. The warning disappeared, but I still called the installer to confirm the settings. Since then it has been reliable, quietly covering my evening loads.
Still, having backup power and using more solar makes the investment worthwhile for my family every day. I check the app occasionally, but mostly appreciate not thinking about peak rates anymore.
