Solution Solar Battery DIY Parts
Using my solar battery system for a full year has changed how I think about electricity, especially during expensive evening hours. I installed a Huawei sun2000 15ktl m2 inverter alongside a 15 kWh home battery after seeing my summer bills climb despite having plenty of rooftop solar. The main difference is simple: instead of sending most afternoon generation back to the grid cheaply, I store it and use it after sunset.
On a typical weekday, the battery starts charging around late morning. By dinner time, it usually sits between 80 and 95 percent, depending on cooking, air-conditioning, and how cloudy the day has been. I then run the dishwasher, lights, television, and sometimes the heat pump from stored energy. Before the battery, those same hours were when my electricity meter seemed to spin fastest. My monthly bill has fallen by roughly 35 to 45 percent, and the improvement is most noticeable in July and August when the utility’s peak rate is painful.
The practical surprise has been how quiet and automatic the setup is. I rarely open the monitoring app unless I am curious. It shows solar production, battery state of charge, household consumption, and grid import clearly enough that I can spot waste, like leaving the dehumidifier running overnight.
I did have one minor scare in winter. A cold, cloudy afternoon left the battery at 18 percent, and it stopped discharging to preserve backup reserve. I initially thought something had failed, but the settings were working as intended. I adjusted the reserve slightly, and the system behaved normally the next day.
For me, solar-plus-storage is not about eliminating every grid connection. It is about using more of my own clean energy and avoiding peak-hour prices. The battery has made my solar investment feel considerably more useful day to day.
