I was initially focused on solar power battery cost, but the more useful number has been payback in everyday dollars. In my case, the battery did not make electricity free; it made expensive hours less painful.

A minor troubleshooting moment came during a cloudy week. The battery stopped discharging at its scheduled time, and the app showed “waiting for solar.” I restarted the gateway and called the installer; a software update had paused the operating mode. It resumed that night. I would buy this system again: lower peak grid use, steadier bills, and useful backup during short outages, without hesitation.
