I installed a 10-kWh LiFePO4-based solar battery in my garage last spring, mainly to stop buying expensive evening electricity from the grid. Before that, my rooftop solar exported surplus power at lunchtime, while we cooked dinner, charged phones, and ran the dishwasher after sunset. The battery changed that pattern immediately.
My installer mounted the hybrid inverter beside the existing switchboard and connected the storage battery after checking the cable route and backup loads. The setup took most of a day, but the explanation mattered more than the speed. I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a firmware update, the app showed “standby” even though the battery was nearly full. I checked the breaker, restarted the inverter according to the manual, and waited ten minutes. The system resumed normal discharge, and support later confirmed the update had temporarily paused scheduled operation. It was inconvenient, but not a scary failure.
