My electricity bills used to jump every summer, mostly because our air conditioner ran through the evening. I had accidentally set the backup reserve to 40 percent, so the system was protecting that capacity. Lowering the reserve to 20 percent fixed the issue immediately, while still leaving enough emergency power for our refrigerator and internet router.
I also learned that the battery management system matters more than flashy specifications. After several months, this solar energy storage system has made our evening electricity use cheaper, quieter, and much less dependent on the grid.
