Evening power cuts used to be the part of solar ownership I dreaded most. My rooftop panels produced plenty during the day, but without a solar energy storage battery, I still depended on the grid after sunset. I finally installed a 220Ah lithium battery with a hybrid solar inverter, and the difference has been much more practical than I expected.
The biggest improvement is during peak hours. Our utility charges more between 6 and 10 p.m., which is exactly when we cook, run lights, use the television, and occasionally operate the washing machine.
