Solution Solar Inverter
After installing my home solar battery last spring, I noticed the biggest change during the evening peak period. Before storage, my solar panels produced plenty of electricity during the day, but we still bought power after dinner when rates were highest. Now the battery stores the afternoon surplus and runs the refrigerator, Wi-Fi, lights, and television from about 5 p.m. until bedtime.
My average evening consumption is roughly 5 kWh. With the battery covering most of that usage, my monthly electricity bill has dropped by about €35 to €50, depending on the weather and how much heating we use. It is not a dramatic overnight saving, but over a year it adds up, and I like seeing less energy going back to the grid for very little value.
The most useful setting has been the time-of-use schedule. I programmed the solar battery to charge from the panels during the day and avoid grid charging unless the forecast shows several cloudy days. On sunny weeks, the battery usually reaches full charge before lunch. Even on ordinary days, it still gives us several hours of backup in the evening.
I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. The battery stopped discharging one evening, even though the monitoring app showed a healthy charge level. I checked the inverter and found that a software update had reset the operating schedule. Restoring the peak-hour settings solved it in about ten minutes. Since then, I check the app once a week instead of assuming everything is running perfectly.
I had originally searched for DIY guides using the phrase “fabriquer une batterie lithium 12v,” but I decided a professionally assembled lithium battery storage system was safer for a permanently connected home setup. My practical advice is to size the battery around your evening usage, not your total daily consumption. For me, reliable peak-hour bill savings matter more than having a huge battery that sits full most of the day.
