I checked the manual and found the backup reserve had accidentally been raised to 20% during a firmware update. Lowering the reserve restored normal operation immediately. That taught me to check settings after updates instead of assuming a hardware fault.

I now treat the solar battery as part of our daily routine, not a magic bill eraser.
