Running my house on stored solar power has changed the way I think about electricity bills. I have since adjusted the reserve setting to 20 percent instead of 10 percent. Keeping that cushion matters here because cloudy mornings are common, and I prefer having backup power available rather than squeezing out the last few dollars of savings.

The only hiccup happened during the first week. The monitoring app showed the battery at 100 percent, while the house was still pulling from the grid. I checked the breaker and discovered the backup output had been disabled after a firmware update. A quick restart restored normal operation, and support confirmed the setting.

Since then, the battery has been boring in the best possible way: quiet, automatic, and dependable. During one short outage, it kept our refrigerator, Wi-Fi, lights, and home office running without interruption. I did notice the air conditioner stay off, which I consider reasonable for a battery here. The biggest win: savings.
