Last winter, our utility bill averaged about $210 monthly; after adding the storage battery, similar months landed near $145, despite using roughly the same appliances. That is around $65 saved each month, not a magical disappearance of the bill. On cloudy days, I still buy grid power, and the battery rarely lasts all night when the heat pump runs hard. I especially appreciate the automatic reserve setting: I keep 20 percent for outages, while the remaining capacity handles peak rates. During one three-hour outage, the switchover was quick enough that my son only noticed the router reboot. That small reassurance matters every day.
