Solution Solar Battery
Early this year I added a home battery to my rooftop solar system, mainly to stop buying expensive electricity after dinner. Before installation, my inverter sent surplus power straight to the grid, and I still paid peak rates when cooking or running the dishwasher.
The installer paired the battery with a hybrid inverter and configured a charge schedule. I also asked about the deye sun 100k g03. That suited our daily needs. Instead, we installed a more modest lithium iron phosphate battery bank with room to expand later.
The biggest difference showed up on my first billing cycle. I now charge from solar during the afternoon, then use stored energy between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. My evening grid consumption fell from 11 kilowatt-hours to 3. That reduced my peak-hour charges by about $38 in one month, even though winter clouds meant less solar generation than expected. It is not a dramatic “zero bill,” but the battery has made the daily bill steadier and more predictable.
My favorite feature is the backup reserve. During an outage, the refrigerator, Wi-Fi router, and lights stayed on without me touching anything. I once noticed the battery stopped charging after a firmware update. The monitoring app showed an error, but an inverter restart cleared it; support confirmed the battery temperature and state of charge were normal. Since then I check the app weekly, keep the reserve at 25%, and avoid running high-power heaters overnight.
For me, solar storage works because it shifts usage to my own cheaper energy, rather than promising magic savings. The system feels quiet, automatic, and useful every day.
