Running my home on solar power with a growatt 3.6 kw inverter LiFePO4 Battery has changed how I think about electricity. The biggest difference is during evening peak hours. Before the battery, I used to watch the meter climb after dinner, especially when the oven, dishwasher, and heat pump were running together. Now the battery charges from my rooftop solar panels through the afternoon and carries that energy into the night.
On sunny days it usually reaches full charge before 2 p.m., and I rarely buy grid electricity until early morning. My utility bill dropped by roughly 35 percent in the first month, despite keeping the same habits. That saving varies with weather, of course, but avoiding expensive peak-rate power has made the battery storage worthwhile for me.
Installation was less dramatic than I expected. The installer mounted the inverter and battery in my utility room, then walked me through the monitoring app. I did spend an afternoon adjusting the reserve setting. At first, I left it at 20 percent, but our overnight consumption sometimes drained the pack too far before sunrise. Raising the backup reserve to 35 percent solved that without any fuss, although it slightly reduced the daily bill savings.
I also noticed how quiet the LiFePO4 battery is. I hear a faint click when it switches modes, but there is no hum or noticeable heat in normal operation. The app shows solar production, battery state of charge, and household load clearly, which helped me discover our old freezer was using more energy than expected. Replacing its worn door seal improved both efficiency and battery runtime.
I am not claiming this system eliminated my electricity bill; cloudy weeks still require grid support. However, having stored solar energy available every evening feels practical and valuable.
