Very quickly, my solar battery became the part of my system I relied on most. I installed an eve 3.6 volt lithium battery last spring after getting tired of sending excess midday solar power back to the grid for very little credit. My main goal was simple: charge the battery during the day and use that stored energy during the expensive evening hours.
The setup was easier than I expected, although I did spend an afternoon checking cable connections, inverter settings, and the battery management system readings. I’m not an electrician, so I had the installation completed professionally, but I wanted to understand what the solar energy storage system was doing. Once configured, the monitoring app showed the battery charging after breakfast and gradually discharging after dinner. That visual feedback made it much easier to adjust our habits.
The biggest difference has been our peak-hour electricity usage. Previously, cooking dinner, running the dishwasher, and using lights and television all happened when grid rates were highest. Now, the lithium battery usually handles those loads. On sunny days, it still has plenty of capacity by bedtime, and on cloudy days, I reserve some charge for the evening rather than running the washing machine unnecessarily.
My monthly bill has not disappeared, but it has dropped noticeably. Before adding battery storage, our evening consumption was often the most expensive part of the bill. Since installation, that portion has fallen by roughly half, depending on weather and how much power we use. I especially notice the savings during hot weeks when the air conditioner runs after sunset.
I did have one minor troubleshooting moment when the app showed the battery at a lower state of charge than expected. Restarting the monitoring gateway fixed the display; the battery itself had continued working normally. That experience reassured me because the system’s basic operation did not depend entirely on the app. Overall, the battery has made my solar setup more practical, predictable, and useful every day.
