I installed a 10-kWh lifeypo4 solar battery in my garage last spring, and the biggest surprise was how quickly it changed my evening routine. One small troubleshooting moment happened during the first week. The monitoring app showed the battery at 100%, but the house was still pulling power from the grid. I checked the inverter and found its operating mode had been left on backup reserve only. After changing it to self-consumption, the next evening discharge worked correctly. I appreciated that the fix was a setting, not a service call.
Since then, the battery has given me outage confidence. During a storm-related interruption it kept our lights and internet running. I can check the state of charge on my phone, but I forget it is there. That feels like the best compliment.
