Before storage, our monthly bill averaged about $185 during the summer. After adding the solar battery, it was closer to $92, with similar weather and usage. That is not a scientific comparison, but the savings are obvious on the utility app. I especially notice it when we cook dinner and run the dishwasher without seeing the meter jump.

I chose LiFePO4 chemistry because I wanted a safer long-cycle-life option, and I liked that the battery management system showed charging status and remaining capacity clearly. Some listings use the phrase "ups lifepo4," which confused me at first because I was shopping for home solar storage rather than a computer backup UPS. In practice, the important things were inverter compatibility, usable capacity, and proper installation—not just the battery label.

My only annoyance was a low-battery warning during a cloudy, rainy weekend. I had set the reserve too low, so the system switched to grid power earlier than expected. Raising the backup reserve fixed it. Now I keep 25 percent available for outages, and the rest handles our daily load. That small adjustment made the battery feel practical.
