Our grid import has fallen from roughly 25 kWh a day in July to 7 or 8 kWh, depending on air-conditioning. The bill savings are not theoretical: our summer bill dropped about $70 compared with the previous year, despite using the same appliances.

I had one minor troubleshooting moment. After a cloudy week, the battery stopped discharging and the app showed reserve mode. The installer explained that several low-solar days had triggered my 30-percent backup reserve. Lowering it to 20 percent restored evening operation, while retaining outage protection.

People mention life batteries, but my measure is simple: how often this solar battery replaces peak-rate electricity without attention. Winter will be weaker, yet solar energy storage has turned afternoon sunshine into evening savings. I check the app weekly and would choose it again.
