Running my home on solar power became much easier after I added a 5kWh lithium battery and hybrid inverter last spring. Before that, my rooftop panels exported most of their afternoon energy, while I still bought expensive electricity after dinner. The battery changed that pattern immediately.
I charge it during the sunny part of the day and run the refrigerator, Wi-Fi, lights, and washing machine from stored energy through the evening.
