I set the energy storage system to charge from solar and discharge during those hours. On sunny days, our grid meter barely moves until bedtime.

Over three summer months, my electricity bill fell by about 35 percent compared with the same period last year, even though we ran the air conditioner more often. That is not a perfect scientific comparison, but it is real money in my budget. The battery does not eliminate the bill; cloudy stretches still mean buying power, and the system’s reserve setting keeps some capacity available during an outage.

One small troubleshooting moment happened during a hot week. One morning I noticed the battery had not discharged overnight and the house was drawing from the grid. I first suspected a failed solar panel, but the monitoring app showed an unusual standby setting. After checking the installation manual, I found that I had accidentally enabled backup-only mode while testing the system. Turning it off restored normal operation after the next charge cycle. It was a useful reminder that even a largely automatic setup still needs occasional attention.

My go power inverter has otherwise been quiet and dependable; the fan is audible when it is working hard, but it is never disruptive from the hallway. I check it every evening.
