Still, seeing the meter move more slowly after 6 p.m. feels genuinely satisfying.

The most useful practical feature is the low-battery warning. One evening I ran the television and two fans longer than usual, ignored the warning, and woke up to a flat battery. The inverter had switched to grid power safely, but I had to reset my evening routine. Now I leave a little reserve for late-night outages and check the battery indicator before adding any heavy load.

Maintenance has been simple: I check distilled water levels every few weeks, keep the terminals clean, and make sure ventilation around the inverter remains clear. I also avoid plugging an iron or microwave into the backup circuit, since the surge is more than my modest system should handle.

After several months, I am happiest with the predictability, not the idea of total energy independence. This solar battery setup has lowered my peak-hour usage, kept essential appliances running, and made outages far less disruptive.
