The only annoying moment came during the first week: the battery stopped discharging at 6 p.m. The app showed a “grid reserve” warning. I had accidentally set backup reserve to 80 percent while exploring the settings. Dropping it back to 25 percent fixed the problem immediately.

After several months, I appreciate the battery less as a gadget and more as a quiet bill-management tool. I still watch my solar production and battery state of charge, but I rarely think about it. For my home, the life p04 setup has been worthwhile mainly because it turns wasted midday solar into predictable peak-hour savings.
