After installing my easun power solar battery system last spring, I stopped treating my electricity bill like a monthly surprise. The biggest difference has been using stored solar energy during the evening peak, especially between 4 and 9 p.m., when our utility rate jumps. Before the battery, I would run the dishwasher, heat pump, and kitchen appliances after dinner without thinking. Now the battery carries most of that load.

On sunny days, my inverter fills the battery by early afternoon, and I usually go into the evening with 80–90% state of charge. Watching the usage screen drop from grid power to battery power has become a small daily ritual.

In the first full month, my grid consumption fell by roughly 40%, and the bill was about $46 lower than the same month last year, despite similar weather. That is not a dramatic overnight transformation, but it is money I can actually see staying in my account instead of leaving during expensive peak hours.

The one hiccup came during a cloudy week. The battery stopped discharging at 35%, even though the app showed plenty of usable capacity. I initially thought the solar inverter had failed, but the explanation was simpler: I had accidentally enabled a backup reserve setting after exploring the menus. Once I lowered that reserve to 15%, discharge resumed normally. I appreciated that the system protected itself instead of emptying completely, although the app could have explained the setting more clearly.

I still check battery state of charge before running the washing machine, and I do not expect zero bills in winter. For me, the value is predictable peak-hour savings, quieter energy planning, and having backup power when the grid flickers. The solar battery has made my home less dependent on the utility and more deliberate.
