Solution LiFePO4 Battery Cell
Early this year, I added a home solar battery after getting tired of watching my electricity bill jump between 4-7pm. I already had rooftop panels, but without storage I was exporting cheap daytime energy and buying it back at peak rates. My installer paired the battery with a deye sun2000g3 inverter, and the change was noticeable from the first full week.
Setup took most of one Saturday. The wall-mounted battery went in beside the utility room, and the electrician spent extra time checking the CT clamp direction. That detail mattered: during the first evening, the app showed household loads being supplied by the grid even though the battery was charged. He reversed the clamp, and the monitoring immediately made sense. Since then, I have trusted the battery state of charge display much more.
My favorite part is the peak-hour behavior. At around 4:00pm, the system stops sending solar power to the grid and starts covering our refrigerator, lights, router, and heat-pump controls. On a normal weekday, it carries us through the expensive window until about 9:00pm. My monthly bill has dropped by roughly 30%, though that varies with cloudy weather and how much laundry we run. The biggest difference is that I no longer think about delaying dinner or turning on the dishwasher.
There was one minor scare during a rainy week. The battery stopped discharging at 18%, even while the app showed plenty of capacity. I checked the backup reserve setting and discovered I had accidentally raised it while exploring the menus. Lowering it restored normal operation the next evening. That reminded me that usable battery capacity depends on reserve settings and inverter limits.
After six months, I am especially happy with the quiet operation. It is not magic—on several dark winter days we still buy grid electricity sometimes.
