The battery supplied 18 to 22 kWh on most evenings, and I still exported a little on cloudy-free days. Seeing the utility graph flatten feels more satisfying than watching a single sunny-day production record.

One small troubleshooting moment happened during a heat wave. The battery stopped discharging at 7 p.m., leaving us on grid power during the peak rate. The monitoring app showed a temperature warning, and I initially worried the whole solar storage system had failed. After clearing leaves around the outdoor cabinet and improving airflow, it resumed later that night. Customer support confirmed the high-temperature protection was normal, though inconvenient.

I also use the stored energy more deliberately now. I schedule the dishwasher and laundry for late morning when solar generation is strong, reserve the battery for peak hours, and avoid draining it completely before a storm. My garage has a dewalt 20v battery lithium charger, but I keep that separate from the home battery system; it is simply another reminder that rechargeable power is now part of my daily routine.

After months, I value the predictable evening savings most; the battery is quiet, boring, and useful, which is exactly what I wanted.
