The biggest change after installing my solar battery was how much less I worried about the evening electricity rush. Before the battery, my solar panels produced plenty during the day, but most of us were out working, so I sent a lot of that power back to the grid. During one outage, the battery switched over automatically, and I only noticed because the lights flickered briefly. It powered the refrigerator, internet equipment, a few lights, and my home office. I did not try to run the oven or central air conditioning, but the important circuits stayed active for several hours.

The only minor annoyance was a false low-battery warning after a software update. I restarted the gateway and contacted the installer, who confirmed the battery was fine and pushed another update. Since then, the solar energy storage system has been quiet and dependable.

Oddly, the battery also gave me one less thing to think about during a stressful week when I was ordering an at home covid test kit. I appreciated having reliable backup power without rearranging my routine. For me, peak-hour bill savings and automatic backup are the two features that make this solar battery worth keeping.
