48v inverter pure sine wave

8 months ago I installed a 10kWh solar battery beside my inverter, and the biggest change became obvious after sunset. Before that, my rooftop panels exported plenty of electricity during the day, while we bought power back from the grid during expensive evening hours. Now the battery charges from solar and runs our refrigerator, lights, Wi-Fi, and washing machine until bedtime.

I paired it with a 48v inverter pure sine wave, mainly because I wanted clean, dependable power for sensitive electronics. Setup was easier than I expected. The installer mounted the battery, connected the battery cables, configured the charge settings, and linked the monitoring app. I spent the first week checking the app far too often, but it helped me understand our actual household pattern. We usually reach full charge by early afternoon, then gradually use the stored energy through the evening.

The savings have been practical rather than dramatic. My bill used to jump because our utility charges more during peak hours. Since adding the lithium battery storage, our monthly bill has generally fallen by around 25 to 35 percent, depending on cloudy weather and how much laundry we run. During sunny weeks, the battery often carries us through the entire evening without grid power. That feels especially satisfying when I see the solar panels still producing energy while the battery supplies the house.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a firmware update, the battery stopped discharging overnight. The monitoring screen showed a reserve setting higher than I had intended, so the system was protecting its backup capacity. Lowering that reserve restored normal operation immediately. I now keep a 20 percent backup reserve for outages, which seems like a good compromise.

For me, the real benefit is not being completely off-grid. It is using more of my own solar power, avoiding peak rates, and having quiet backup electricity when the grid briefly fails.
