Solution Solar Inverter
I installed a solar battery system last summer, mainly because our electricity bills were climbing during the evening. My setup uses a livguard inverter connected to rooftop panels and a lithium battery.
Now the battery charges from solar energy through the day and runs lights, fans, the refrigerator, and our Wi-Fi router during peak hours. I usually set it to keep about twenty percent reserve, so there is still backup power if the grid fails overnight.
The biggest change is visible on my monthly bill. We used to average around 310 units a month from the utility, with an evening-heavy bill of roughly ₹3,700. After installing the battery, our grid consumption dropped to about 190 units, and the bill has settled near ₹2,300. That is roughly ₹1,400 saved each month, though the exact amount changes with cloudy weather and how often we use the water pump.
I did have one small troubleshooting moment in the first month. The battery stopped discharging at 9:30 p.m., even though the app showed plenty of charge. I discovered the inverter had switched to a backup-only mode after a brief voltage fluctuation. After restarting it and checking the battery settings, it returned to normal time-of-use operation. I have not seen the problem again, but I now glance at the monitoring app every few days.
What I appreciate most is the quiet backup. We have had two outages since installation, and the livguard inverter switched quickly enough that my children barely noticed. We are not independent of the grid, but evening usage feels predictable and less stressful. For me, solar panels, battery storage, and sensible peak-hour usage have been a practical improvement for our family budget every month here.
