5:30 a.m. was the moment I started appreciating my solar battery system. During a heatwave, the battery had charged overnight from my solar panels, and it carried the house through the expensive evening hours.
Before installing it, my utility bill jumped whenever we cooked dinner, ran the dishwasher, and used air conditioning after sunset. What I like most is the routine. The panels charge the battery while I am at work, the battery covers evening demand, and the grid takes over when it is empty. I have not needed a generator, and our outages feel less disruptive. For my household, the solar storage system is less about flashy technology and more about savings and a little peace of mind.
