0nce I started comparing my evening electricity use with my solar battery, I stopped guessing where the savings came from. My system is a modest 10kWh lithium iron phosphate battery paired with 6kW of rooftop panels. It is not a flashy setup, but it has changed how I run the house.

The installer finished in one morning, including a wall-mounted battery cabinet, hybrid inverter, isolator, and a small monitoring meter. Getting the app connected took longer than mounting everything. My Wi-Fi reached the inverter, but the battery refused to appear until I rebooted the router and inverter. That small hiccup was annoying, though the installer answered quickly and updated the firmware.

The bigger win has been peak-hour control. During sunny days, I leave the battery charging from the panels, then set it to discharge from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, when our utility rate is highest. Before storage, I regularly watched the kettle, dishwasher, and heat pump push us into the expensive tariff window. Now the battery handles most of that load automatically.

In my first full month, my bill dropped from $214 to $137, despite similar weather and cooking habits. The following month was $149 because several cloudy days forced me to buy grid power overnight. I am saving roughly $60–$80 monthly in summer, not the huge numbers advertised by some sales pages. I also noticed fewer nighttime voltage dips; the inverter quietly switches between battery and grid without lights flickering.

The most useful lesson was checking the reserve setting. I started at 20%, but a winter outage drained it faster than expected while the refrigerator and internet stayed on. I raised reserve to 35%, trading some savings for backup comfort. When friends ask about the 10kw solar battery price, I mention installation, rates, and wiring matter too for my home.
