After six months with my home solar battery, I have noticed the biggest difference during the expensive evening hours. I checked the inverter settings and found that the backup reserve had somehow been changed to 80%. Once I lowered it to 20%, normal operation returned. That experience taught me not to assume a battery problem immediately; sometimes the issue is simply a setting.
The battery is quiet, and I have not noticed any unusual heat or smell in the utility room. I check the state of charge and solar production through the app a few times a week, but otherwise the system requires little attention. For me, the most practical benefit is not watching the meter fall to zero; it is using stored solar energy when electricity costs the most.
