After I installed my home solar battery storage system last spring, the biggest change was using electricity after sunset instead of sending it straight back to the grid. I raised the reserve setting from 10% to 20% and enabled grid charging below that threshold. Since then, it has behaved normally. I prefer that safety cushion to squeezing out every last watt-hour.
