Using my solar battery system through a full summer has changed how I think about electricity. Before installation, I watched the inverter app mostly out of curiosity. Now I check it almost every evening, especially to see how much stored solar energy carried us through the expensive peak hours.
My setup includes a Huawei sun2000 3ktl m1 inverter, rooftop solar panels, and a home battery. During sunny days, the panels usually cover the house while charging the battery. After dinner, when the oven, lights, and air conditioning are running, the battery takes over instead of pulling as much power from the grid. That timing has made the biggest difference to my electricity bill. Our overall usage has not changed dramatically, but our evening grid consumption has dropped noticeably. On a typical summer month, our bill is around 30 to 40 percent lower than it was before the battery, depending on the weather and how often we use the air conditioner.
One small troubleshooting moment taught me not to panic. I noticed the battery had stopped discharging one evening, even though the app showed plenty of charge remaining. I checked the settings and found that a backup reserve had been set higher than I remembered. Lowering that reserve restored normal operation. The battery was not faulty; it was simply protecting the emergency capacity I had selected.
I also appreciate having that reserve during short outages. It does not run every appliance indefinitely, but it keeps essentials like the refrigerator, Wi-Fi router, and a few lights operating.
The system is not completely “set and forget”—I still adjust charging preferences and watch the battery state of charge—but the routine is simple. For me, the main benefit is practical: less peak-hour electricity, a lower monthly bill, and better use of the solar power we generate ourselves.
