Having lived with rooftop solar for three years, I finally added a lithium battery last spring, and the change has been most noticeable after sunset. Before the battery, my panels produced plenty during the day, but I still bought electricity from the grid every evening.

I checked the backup switch, Wi-Fi connection, and inverter status; everything looked normal. After calling the installer, I discovered a firmware update had raised the reserve setting automatically. Returning it to 20% restored normal discharge that evening.
What I appreciate most is seeing solar production, battery state of charge, and grid use in one app. That visibility helps me adjust laundry and cooking, and it makes the solar battery feel like a useful household tool every day.
