Every evening, I used to watch my electricity meter climb when the sun went down. My rooftop solar panels produced plenty during the day, but without storage, I was buying power right when the rates were highest. Installing the resu10h battery changed that routine almost immediately.
The setup was less dramatic than I expected. My installer mounted the battery beside the garage and connected it to the hybrid inverter. The app took an afternoon to learn, mostly because I had to adjust the operating mode from backup priority to time-of-use savings. Once configured, the battery charged from excess solar after lunch and began powering the house around 4:00 p.m. I could hear a quiet click from the inverter, but otherwise it disappeared into the background.
The most noticeable difference showed up on my first full bill. Before storage, I regularly paid about $180 during hot months. The next bill was $124, despite using the air conditioner on several warm evenings. The battery covered dinner, laundry, and most of my evening cooling, while the grid supplied only a little overnight. Savings vary with cloudy weather, but I have generally cut peak-hour usage by roughly 70%. That's more useful to me than a headline about total kilowatt-hours.
I did have one minor scare. After a firmware update, the app showed the battery at 0% even though the inverter said it was charging. I power-cycled the communications gateway, waited ten minutes, and refreshed the app. The reading returned, and the system has behaved normally since. Support also confirmed it was a display issue, not lost capacity.
I still keep a small amount of grid power reserved for outages, so the battery is not always empty by morning. For my home, that trade-off feels sensible: lower peak-hour bills, practical backup power, and less dependence on expensive evening electricity. The quieter bills made the investment feel worthwhile.
