Restarting the battery controller and restoring the reserve setting fixed it, although I now check the app after updates rather than assuming everything is fine.

My practical lesson is to shift loads intentionally. I run the dishwasher and washing machine around noon while panels are producing, instead of making the battery do all the work later. That habit has improved self-consumption and made the solar battery payback feel faster. For our household, this combination works.
