Replacing our aging lead-acid backup battery with a growatt spa compatible LiFePO4 Battery has made the biggest difference to how we use our solar system. I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. The battery stopped discharging one evening even though it showed plenty of capacity. I found that the inverter had switched into a backup-only setting after a brief grid outage. Restarting the inverter and restoring the normal self-consumption mode fixed it. Since then, I check the operating mode after outages.

The main practical benefit is flexibility. We are using more of our own solar energy instead of sending it back to the grid for a small credit. The LiFePO4 battery has been quiet, predictable, and easy to monitor, and I would expand the storage capacity later if our evening electricity use increases.
