Having a photovoltaic battery installed beside my garage last spring, I noticed the biggest change not in my solar panels, but in what happened after sunset. That small troubleshooting moment taught me not to trust the default schedule without checking it against my utility's rate window.
Installation was quieter and cleaner than I feared. The technician mounted the inverter and battery on a wall, labeled the disconnects, and explained the emergency shutoff. I do hear a hum when charging, but it is inaudible. After six months, capacity still looks healthy, and I have not needed service. For me, the solar battery is less about chasing zero bills than making evening electricity predictable and using more of photovoltaic energy.
