Noise was another surprise. I worried the inverter would hum all night, but it is nearly silent indoors; the only noticeable sound is a brief fan burst during heavy charging, nothing like percussion. I still check the battery level before storms and keep the utility connection active. The system is not magic—I still pay a connection charge and my winter savings will be smaller—but using my own solar after sunset has made the investment feel practical, predictable, and surprisingly satisfying.
