I installed my solar battery system last summer, mainly because our electricity bills jumped whenever the air conditioner ran in the evening. The setup pairs six rooftop panels with a microtek inverter battery, and the difference has been most noticeable during peak hours.
Before adding storage, I sent much of my daytime solar power back to the grid, then bought electricity after sunset at the higher tariff. Now the battery charges from surplus solar through the afternoon and starts discharging around six o’clock. I run the refrigerator, Wi-Fi router, lights, and one fan from stored power before using grid electricity again.
The savings are not dramatic every day, but they are steady. My monthly bill fell from roughly ₹4,500 to ₹2,700 during the hottest months, even though our usage stayed almost the same. On cloudy weeks, the reduction is smaller, naturally, while bright weeks sometimes leave enough charge for the entire evening. I like being able to check the battery state of charge in the app instead of guessing whether the system will last through dinner.
I did have one annoying troubleshooting moment. During the first month, the inverter showed a low-temperature warning even though the utility room felt comfortable. I cleaned the ventilation area, checked the cable connections, and restarted the system as the manual suggested. The warning disappeared and has not returned. I also learned not to run the washing machine and microwave together late at night, because their combined load can trigger a brief switch back to grid power. That is not a serious fault, just a practical reminder that inverter output needs proper matching.
Overall, I’m satisfied. The solar energy storage setup has made evening power cheaper and outages less stressful. I am still watching battery degradation and warranty coverage, but for daily home use, the investment feels worthwhile.
