That $68 reduction is not dramatic every month, but it adds up, and I especially notice the battery during short cloudy stretches when solar production is modest.

At first, I watched the monitoring app obsessively. It displayed state of charge, solar input, household load, and battery output in real time. One evening, the app showed the battery at 18% just before a forecast thunderstorm. I had accidentally left the clothes dryer on its normal schedule. I cancelled it from the app and saved enough reserve to run our refrigerator overnight. That small moment convinced me that usable capacity matters more than impressive headline numbers.

I also had one minor troubleshooting moment: after a firmware update, the inverter stopped sending status notifications, although the battery continued working. I restarted the gateway, checked the Wi-Fi connection, and contacted support. They guided me through a reset, and alerts returned within ten minutes. Since then, I have left the system alone mostly.
