I installed a 10kWh LiFePO4 battery beside my inverter last spring, and the biggest surprise was how quickly it changed our evenings. Before the solar battery went in, our electric bill jumped whenever we cooked dinner after sunset. Now it charges from rooftop panels during the day and carries us through the expensive peak period until bedtime.

At first, the monitoring app showed 100 percent before noon, but the battery was empty by 9:30 p.m. I discovered a conservative discharge limit was enabled. After a quick call, we lowered it from 30% to 15%, giving us roughly two extra hours each night.
During the hottest month, our evening grid use fell from around 9kWh to 2–3kWh. The first full month, my bill was $78 lower than the same month the year before, although weather and habits differed. That saving made the solar battery feel practical, not theoretical.
There was one minor scare in July: the inverter stopped discharging after a firmware update. I power-cycled both units, but the warning returned. A support technician remotely restored the setting, and it has worked normally since. I now keep screenshots of settings and check the state of charge each morning.
For us, the value is not total energy independence. It is quieter evenings, more predictable bills, and using our own solar power instead of selling it cheaply. I would choose LiFePO4 again, but installer compatibility matters more than any bargain pricing.
