I installed my first solar battery system last spring after getting tired of watching evening electricity rates climb.

One small troubleshooting moment happened during a storm. The app showed the battery at 100%, yet the house switched to grid power. I initially assumed the inverter had failed. After checking the manual, I found the system had entered backup reserve mode because I had accidentally set a high minimum state of charge. Lowering that setting restored normal operation, and taught me not to rely only on app icons.
For me, the best part is quieter budgeting. I use more solar power myself, and I no longer worry as much about every peak-hour appliance. The battery has not made me independent from the grid, but it has made our daily energy use feel predictable.
